Surrealism – 1

I created this painting in 2011 using gouache on cardboard, measuring 50.70 cm. Unlike most of my other works, which typically focus on portraits and female figures, this piece depicts a male form—a burning man who emits tongues of fire, his body blazing red with the intensity of flames. Eventually, he cools into ash, with molten, volcanic tears streaming from his eyes. The painting explores the painful contrast between these two states: a man compelled to persist, whether in silent coldness or rebellious destruction. This duality, marked by suffering and an underlying darkness, reflects my bleak outlook on life—an overarching theme present in much of my work.
